In 2013 Yumiko Yoshioka along with the butoh artist Miguel Camarero, creates the intercultural project Hibrido (Hybrid). Hibrido is a butoh performance project, which weaves the aesthetics of butoh with the dance, forms inherent to various cultures.

It was first presented in Mexico City at the Teatro de la Danza and the following year in Lima, Peru at La Huaca de Santa Catalina (Pre-Columbian site). Given the idiosyncrasies of the particular place, and through an intense creative process, a different performance is brought about. Hibrido explores the dual nature of being; from the union of two different beings a new entity is born which contains the essence of both. That which is not able to mix cannot survive.
