eX…it s a butoh-related festival,  initiated by Yumiko Yoshioka and delta RA’i as artistic directors. The festival has been taking place every 4 years since 1995 at Schloss Broellin in Germany. So far, six editions of eX..it have been held, each with a different theme and emphasis.

The basic idea is to invite 8 – 12 butoh or butoh-related choreographers to share their experience in dance works with the participants, and to explore a creative process of bodywork that transcends their stylistic and conceptual differences. Up to 75 people from all over the world can take part in this unique project which culminates in a site-specific public presentation:

We all enjoy the blooming of a transient dance utopia like a midsummer night’s dream.
